In August I had the pleasure of going up to Messingham in Scunthorpe to work with this lovely lot.

Abbie has two horses. Rigo is an 18 year old ex dressage warmblood who she describes as very cheeky, she has had him for 2 years now. And Joey, her 16 year old bay thoroughbred who she has had for 1 year. She describes Joey as a typical thoroughbred and a fabulous jumper.

Abbie keeps her horses on a gorgeous livery yard, with beautiful red brick stables, a lake and loads of lovely big fields with long grass. I'm sure you can imagine my smile when I pulled up and saw the abundance of amazing photo locations for this one.

We went for 3 different outfits for Abbie after going through the suitcase full she had brought with her (love it when my clients do this and we choose outfits together, it's my favourite!). The first was a lovely casual polo top with some jeans. We headed out into the grazing field for these and did some by the lake and in the open space. Before long the treat shaking attracted all the other horses so we changed location to just outside the field entrance where there was a lovely wooden fence and gateaway.

We then went for a gorgeous smart casual look, some purple trousers with a white shirt. We used the stables for this as I felt the bright clothing would look great against the red brickwork and the dark dropoff of the stable.

After that, Abbie put on her gorgeous black long dress and we headed out to the field with the long grass. I love using a long grass and long dress combo, I think it really softens the look and looks so majestic.

In each of the locations we did individual shots and shots of all of them together. The boys were so well behaved and fully embraced the photoshoot experience. A huge thank you to Abbie's lovely friends on the yard that helped hold horses and get their ears forward, it's always a little less chaotic with a few extra pair of hands!

We created a lovely big frame to go on the wall in Abbie's lounge, I know she will find joy in seeing this on the wall every day.
