I had a wonderful shoot with gorgeous dalmation, River, & her dog mum Beth this week up in the Peak District.

Primarily I chose the location for the view, which subsequently you couldn't see due to the weather conditions (the joys of British winter). We decided to roll with the conditions and I must say we got some stunning photos.

It was super foggy due to being high up in the clouds and with the clouds came a lot of light drizzle.

Quite the challenge, but with challenge comes fresh creativity, and I'm here for it!

The location I chose has wonderful open, rocky space, wonderful views (on a clear day) and ancient woodland all close together. It's also not a very busy part of the Peak District and has no livestock which means it's safer to let dog's off the lead (if they're good to do so).

The point is winter is an amazing time of year for dog shoots.

There's nothing better than capturing that bond between a dog and their human. The browns in the leaves and ferns, the moss on the rocks and the weather can all contribute to an amazing set of images. It's becoming one of my favourite times of year for dog photoshoots. Muddy paws & bellies, lots of running around and a true adventure in the Peak District.
