Ella & Blue, Ali & Alfie

Back in July I had a lovely shoot with sisters Ali & Ella and their horses Alfie and Blue on their private yard in Derbyshire. 

Blue is a 14.3Hh coloured mare who Ella describes as grumpy but beautiful. She's very laid back and loves her food. Ella does a bit of dressage, showjumping and working hunter with her. Ella mentioned she loved Blue's blue eye so would like to somehow include that in a photo in some way.

Alfie is a 14Hh appaloosa gelding who Ali does dressage games and jumping with. 

The girls do a bit of everything with their horses, and they were off to summer pony camp in the days after our shoot.

The girls were a little worried about their location not being pretty enough, as a lot of yard owners are. Honestly there were so many gorgeous photo locations there. We used a gorgeous paddock at the back, a field shelter, the stable, the driveway, the school gate and a field with long grass which was gorgeous.

We had a glorious warm sunny day as well which was nice - it was so warm in fact that Blue had to dunk her head and splash about in the water trough at the end which was hilarious!
