My hands were shaking and sweating, and yes I did cry whilst taking these photos.

Wow, that was a really special moment to be a part of... Let me take you back to the beginning.

The most magical thing about my job is definitely bringing dreams into reality.

I got a phone call from the lovely Ailis explaining that her best friend, Alex, was about to be proposed to. Alex is apparently very suspicious, and as every horse girl wants their horse to be at their engagement and wants it photographing, what better way to disguise it than an equine photoshoot with your best friend.

We planned the shoot as normal, two besties sharing their photoshoot with their heart horses, but then immediately after each conversation me and Ailis would speak on the phone and get planning on how to make it work.

We moved through all the outfit changes and locations as normal, with two very "reluctant" partners turning up towards to end of the shoot, somehow coaxed into having a few photos with the girls and their horses.

Though the last little section had a twist. Out under the tree at the front, I said "right then, this is the final one you've all smashed it!" and then it happened. Charlie got down on one knee and produced the most beautiful ring.

There were tears and of course she said YES! Uvi was just happy to get the snack on the tasty grass. Followed by a glass of bubbles to celebrate of course!

Other than the engagement, we included Ailis's family dog, and did various combinations of everyone. They have the most beautiful Derbyshire stone walled yard between the two of them in the Peak District. It's really a beautiful location for the girls to enjoy time with their horses.

Ailis is studying at uni, and Alex is a dressage instructor after competing at a high level with Uvi when he was younger. They both enjoy hacking and just enjoying life at the moment.

If you have every asked me about photographing weddings, you'll know that my reaction is usually a big no, followed by lots of vigorous head shaking to confirm the answer being no. However, I couldn't resist this. As it is such a special moment, what a privilege to be trusted with it.
