Laura, Dylan, Polly & Mika

Laura won my halloween giveaway back in October 2022, and I was delighted when she used her voucher towards an equine photoshoot. Laura is based in Loughborough, with her horse, Polly on a lovely livery yard in the loughborough countryside.

Polly is a 13 year old, 14.1Hh Hackney cross mare who she has owned for 2 years. They do mostly fun stuff together like fun rides and hunting. Laura described Polly as a typical mare who was usually quite chilled but can be a little spooky. 

Her little cavapoochon, Mika, is 7 years old and quite nervous. I must say though she took the whole photoshoot in her stride and was a great photoshoot assistant. 

Laura's partner, Dylan, also joined for a few photos and was a very good treat shaker and dog/pony holder!

Laura wanted some images of her and Polly, all three of them and some with Dylan is as well. 

It was a really lovely sunny day, and the yard was nice and quiet in the afternoon.

Laura had some lovely summer dresses that she wore - in fact I was spoiled for choice when she showed me all the outfits she had brought with her.

We used the lovely fields at the yard, as well as the stable block and school - it's always amazing what you can find that makes a great photo location. 

Mika & Polly were so well behaved, it really was a lovely shoot from start to finish - we even got Polly to drop her mare stare and put her ears forwards throughout the whole thing basically!
