Lauren, Pandora & Jim

I know I always bang on about how my job is such a privilege, because I am being trusted with such special moments in my client's lives... But it is true. And when I get asked back for a second time you'll always catch me doing a little happy dance.

This time, Lauren had me back to photograph her new addition, Jim. He's a really big handsome boy, but unfortunately their journey hasn't been easy with one thing or another seeming to get in the way of progress over the last 18 months or so. The photoshoot was well timed, after receiving more positive news about Jim's progress, this marked the start of things looking up for them.

Of course Lauren still has the gorgeous Pandora, who is still smashing it at all her dressage outings. It's been lovely to see Jim grow and slowly progress back into work now.

Lauren's mum, Annemarie, is a huge help with the horses, and so this time we managed to coax her into a few more photos of them all together now their family has grown.

We just kept it simple at the yard as Jim hadn't been out much and we wanted to be safe. This time we shot in the morning instead of the afternoon, which gave the most gorgeous light. I love going back to the same location twice, as I always see it in a different way.

Often my clients ask me to try and convince their mum's to join for a few photos. After losing my own mum when I was 13 I love bing able to capture this for other people - I know how special these photos will become with time.
