Scarlett & Her Ponies

Surely it's every little girl's dream to have two palomino ponies? I mean look how adorable they are?! 

Scarlett won a photoshoot voucher with me after they won a class I sponsored at a working hunter show at Derby College Equestrian Centre last year. I was absolutely delighted when they book. I know they say don't work with children and ponies but it is really my favourite, and after seeing the result of this shoot I'm sure you'll know why. 

Scarlett has 3 ponies. Steve, her little 8Hh palomino shetland, Abigail, her 12.2Hh palomino welsh mare, and Stanley, an 11.2Hh welsh gelding who was looking for his new home shortly after this shoot. 

8 year old Scarlett does a lot of showing and local shows with her ponies - totally adorable!

We did the shoot at their lovely home stables near Church Broughton in Derbyshire.

They were at the top of a hill which had some gorgeous views. And although the weather meant we had to postpone a few times to get it right, by the time we managed the shoot in May the rapeseed was out in full bloom in the distance and everywhere was very lush and green, which made it perfect for our shoot. 

They really wanted some natural photos that incorporated the views, the wooded area close by and then some nice ridden ones in the school at the end. We had a great time during the shoot and Scarlett picked some lovely outfits. One ridden outfit and two gorgeous dresses which worked really well and provided a lot of variety in the final gallery.

We even included Scarlett's auntie, Jade with her horses in some images as well.
