Sometimes I think the universe puts us in the right place at the right time. Definitely in this case, anyway.

In June I attended a little dog market day at The Kelstedge Inn in Ashover. I was invited by a lovely lady to have a little stand there - there was supposed to be about 10 stands, but only 4 of us turned up. So it was a lot quieter than expected. Luckily for me though, I landed my stand next to the wonderful Daniel & Sophie, who own The Woofy Box.

They're a lovely local business that sell natural dog treats. Being next to them for the day meant we got talking (mainly about dogs as you do!), and they decided to book a shoot for their family later in the summer. It also meant I bought lots of yummy treats to take home for my two boys which they were absolutely thrilled about!

Daniel and Sophie have two gorgeous boys, Charlie & George, as well as 5 wonderful dogs, Maisie, Bobby, Moss, Pippa & Archie (and they have also added another gorgeous girl, Tessa, to their family since our shoot!).

As lovers of the Peak District, we decided to split out photoshoot across two locations. The first stop was Surprise View, a beautiful spot on the top of the Derbyshire Peaks. I love it here, it's definitely one of my favourite photoshoot locations. It's got so much variety for a dog photoshoot. Rocks, ferns, silver birch trees and in the late summer it's flooded with gorgeous bright purple heather.

Now you might think we're bonkers, trying to photograph 2 kids and 5 dogs, but to be honest it was an absolute breeze. Daniel has put so much effort into training his dogs, and with a little bribery (aka ice-cream) for the boys we managed to smash it at this location. We got a combination of family shots, the dogs on their own and together, and the boys with the dogs, too.

Ice cream in hand we made our way to location number 2... Barlow Sunflower Fields.

I always forget how stunning the sunflowers are to shoot in, and this was a really lovely field to photograph at. They were so welcoming, and it wasn't too busy either.

They have a lot of cute little photoshoot props here, so we made use of the lovely rope swing, the benches and then of course the sunflowers and wildflowers themselves. I love a colourful shoot so for me this shoot ticked all the boxes - especially if you're a purple or yellow lover!

Of course at the end we had to pick a few sunflowers to take home as well.

If you've got a minute and a dog or two that loves a yummy treat, pay their website a little visit and support their wonderful business - I'll link it below.
