The Hughes Family

This shoot was so wholesome. It was so lovely spending time with the Hughes family at their home in Derbyshire. It's clear to see how the horses play such a huge part in their life, it was lovely to capture them all.

The main focus during this shoot was daughter Jess and her horses Manny & Chloe, but we also captured childhood ponies Luke & Ollie, family dog, Arthur, and son Will and his favourite family cat.

The highlight of the shoot for me has to be the first bit we did with Arthur. Their very handsome Beagle. We thought we'd just do a few of the kids with him, and after bribing him with Belvita biscuits we got some gorgeous ones.

Arthur sadly passed away a few weeks after the shoot, so these images became even more precious.

I am so grateful we got these for the family, I know they're a little bit of comfort through a difficult time.

We did photos with each horse individually in a few different outfits, using the stables, the paddock, the school and then the long grass next to the yard to finish off. I loved the long grass with Jess's white dress and hat, the softeness of the long grass really makes these set of images.
