The Butler Family

"Our photoshoot was in February at the end of a very wet and soggy winter, so I was a bit stressed about keeping 4 horses, 2 dogs, 2 kids and my husband clean... But the photos were amazing and they all look lovely and fluffy. The photoshoot went really well, although a bit chilly towards the end! I knew they would be good photos though as all the ponies just seemed to pose and were all really well behaved which I was surprised about.

The viewing was really good, we didn’t feel pressured into buying and Imogen was helpful in selecting and going through them all.

My favourite part of the shoot was that the kids loved it and really got into it which was lovely to see. The images turned out better than I expected, they are a lovely moment caught, I know it will be nice to have a large family photo of us all together with the animals as we don’t have any other large family photos in our house."

Belle, Lizzie's daughter, won a voucher towards their shoot after their amazing Christmas fancy dress efforts at the Derby College Christmas show. They live on their family farm in Dronfield, Chesterfield, with 4 horses (Ollie, Daisy, Dotty & Muddle) and 2 dogs (Eddie & Millie).

Belle does a lot of pony club and low level competitions with her ponies, and after seeing them competing it was lovely to see them and spend some time with them at home during their photoshoot.

Lizzie really wanted a gorgeous image of the whole family for the wall, so this was the main brief.

Of course we did some with Belle and her ponies too, and Gabe (Belle's little brother) and shetland Dotty for a bit of fun as well.

One of the words that kept cropping up when planning their family photoshoot was definitely chaos, and that's perfectly normal when it comes to kids and ponies and dogs for sure. But I must say this family absolutely smashed it.

I was really pleased with the results, despite a miserable winter I think the overall vibe of the final images is just lovely, and definitely captures a moment in time for their family. Of course they've now got their gorgeous frame hanging pride of place as well that will last forever to pass down through future generations - how special is that?!
