"We were really excited for out photoshoot as we really wanted to capture some memories of our dogs. The photoshoot went really and my favourite part was watching the dogs have fun.

We got a great result and loads of lovely photos to treasure. The in person viewing was great and we had loads of time to decide what we wanted.

We are very happy with the results!"

How bloody gorgeous are these three?!

Karen very kindly volunteered her dogs for my "Dogs In Colour" project that I'm hoping to complete in 2024. I'm looking at putting a set of 20 images together to gain my photography qualifications in dog photography having got them already in equine photography earlier in 2023.

Shooting for awards and qualifications is very different as the images have to be technically correct, so it can take a lot more perfecting and posing than a normal client shoot. It's for that reason I put a call out specifically for this project, mainly as it requires very well behaved dogs, patient owners and perfect conditions.

We met up in Shipley Country Park for this one, the colours were just about hanging on at this point (we had lots of wind so most of the leaves were blown off by this time of year.) Though I must say the environment and season matched these guys perfectly in my opinion.

These three are working dogs, so they're very well trained which made my job of capturing them really easy.

Charlie Brown is 10, Karen described him as loving people, food and a complete charmer.

Lucy is 7, Karen says she's a hunting machine who just wants to find things, and Woody is 2 who Karen says is a bit of a goon! I must agree with her to be honest, all their characters were very evident from the moment I met them.

We started off in an open space, it was actually raining a bit at the beginning of this shoot but these guys didn't mind. We then moved to a wooded area and used a beautiful tree stump which had some gorgeous colours behind it, before doing some action shots, a group shot and finishing some with their dummy back at the car park.

At their viewing we created a couple of gorgeous 3in1s, one which now lives in Ireland which is a real thrill for me as it's my first piece being displayed "overseas". So exciting!
